hey my friend is hosting a server and it continues to go through lag spikes that affects everyone in the server.

i think the server is hosted on the west coast of America, but i am not sure. i think he set the minimum ping thing to 250 as the max.

can someone help?

torrents lag up your server and try restarting once in a wile

A dedicated server (as Paradox said) is a good idea, but in this case I think we should also mention, that hosting a Trem-Server on the same machine that is used for playing and only connected to the net via cable/dsl/dial-ip is generally considered a stupid idea.

i believe he plays on the same machine that hosts the server with.

that may be the problem, i will consult him about this.

whats wrong with doing that i do that all the time with a 100mb connection and no server lag

A real connection, such as one you get in a datacenter or colo facility.
(10Mbps duplex, un-fiddled with)
