Fun? Do you want to know what I think fun is? Probably not.
I think fun is playing Tremulous how it's supposed to be played. Want trampolines? Go play Nexuiz. I'm all for making 'fun' maps, but trust me, I've been around the idtech3 engine a lot more than most of you guys and I know what people will think is fun and what people won't think is fun.
In my 'career' I've seen plenty of "fun" maps. Helm's Deep for JKA was a fun map. Trempoline was not a fun map, in my opinion. When 'crazy' maps first started coming out for Quake 2, they were fun. Now, they're not. Now they are boring as hell. Bouncing up and down is very funny if you're a newbie to games and like the feeling. For people like me, it's all been done thousands of times.
Playing Tremulous for what it is, an FPS with aliens vs. humans, is the only fun I get from Tremulous now days. Making box maps with the mapping grid 16 is not
fun any more.
Now, I 'spose I'll be getting the classic "don't like it don't play it" attitude. And really, I don't care. I want to see future mapping generations, do not ever think I don't, I just want those mappers to have a bit more potential than they're showing now, is all.
Also, CreatureOfHell, next time do spell realize properly. Unless you're British, you spell "realise" like "realize". For good measure I've quoted it.
