Truth about Mormons.

What the hell is your problem, this is a post about your religion not about bashing others.  Also I think that south park episode, even though I love south park, was actually complimenting the mormons.  Even if mormon believes are not your kick we aren't forcing you to follow them.  We focus more on family values and living a good standard of life than anything else.  Whats wrong with trying to be decent people.  I myself am mormon although I haven't been to church in a bit lol.  I think you need to keep your opinion elsewhere or make a thread about bashing mormons because I would love to defend on it.

I'm going to have to agree with Powerover.  Please take your religion bashing elsewhere.  You may state what you believe, but do not bash others for their beliefs.

Yeah, watch it.  Even though some people's beliefs may clash with yours, they are still people.  The point of following a faith is to perhaps get to know your Creator better, and perhaps to help do something greater, more meaningful, more important that eat/work/sleep/shit/fuck like the modern secular culture would have you do.

Officially, you're right.  However, theye ARE a religious category, due to the fact that there are varying degrees of disbelief in God.

Wow, you are so wrong. Many Amish are raised Anabaptist, at the age of 16 they are allowed to go out and explore the world, this is the point in their lives where they decide if they want to commit to the Amish Church and live their life following Amish traditions or if they want to leave it.
During this time I know some of them who have gotten into gaming and computers, even using myspace to arrange parties and stuff...and these are intense parties, since they don't know that much about drugs and stuff they abuse them badly.

Go rent the documentary "Devil's Playground", it's a great look at the Amish faith and this tradition where 16 year olds are encouraged to explore outside the community.

Religion - the opiate of the masses.

This message was brought to you by Lenin, Stalin, the CCCP, and over 10,000,000 dead soviet citizen souls, crying out to us from their Red Terror graves.  Oh wait, my bad.  It was just someone at a round table with candles, channeling Mao Tse-tung with a bullhorn...

The jedi religion consists of 6 fat bastards sitting around a table each staring intently at a potato.
And if, during their sad, meaningless lives it moves, they profess themselves to be Jedi Masters then stare at it again willing it to dance for them.
Either that or they go outside and try to press road crossing buttons with their minds, or strangle somone using strangling gestures in the air.

These people are crazy, and should be pointed and laughed at, then you should throw peanuts at them.

The outside world for them would be the world that INCLUDES the internet, so when they go exploring, that's the only time that they actually are encouraged to explore and use the internet, unless for if they're of the less than 10% that don't end up committing to the Amish faith.

YES, at that time when they are exploring, they are NOT Amish. They are Amish when they start to settle down and work quietly at a farm. You said it  yourself that they were Anabaptist before becoming Amish.

Um..wow. No.
Amish are Anabaptist.
They are still Amish while exploring, the are Amish until they denounce it. This exploring is part of the Amish faith and thus they are still Amish while doing it. If they die during it, they aren't thought to go to limbo, Heaven since as an Anabaptist child they can't accept religion yet, nor can they be accountable for their sins...it's a better thought than some other religions where babies go to limbo in Hell.

I'm LDS ("Mormon"), though I'm a bad example of one. I usually only go to church every other week or so, and I usually don't observe the sabbath in the ways that most of my church members think I should. I'm much more of a follower of the spirit of the word rather than the letter of the word, though. I try my best to do as I should, and if I do something I shouldn't I repent and try to not do it again. I'm also not vocal about my religion, and I never really discuss it unless people ask me to do so, but I believe in it with all my existence. I'm not going to judge you because of your choice of faith, and all I ask is that I'm given the same benefit.

Also, discussion about religion on the internet is asking for trolls to come out and start the flame wars.
