So I finally got around to finishing it, sorry about the delay.

I removed almost all the new areas (I got carried away) and trimmed down everything so it should not only run better but look better.
I added several new little holes around the map because I love vents. Earthquake is stronger elevator is faster and all the bugs reported were fixed. The elevator room, by the way, makes a nice base.
I hope you all enjoy Thermal and have fun playing it.

When you say you cut out the new areas, what stuff do you mean?
Elevator shaft (dead one), Lava dam, Human default base (v2), Observatory, Lift room, lava tunnel, core turbine, 3rd teleporter, almost all of it gone?
I loved the sheer amount of cool stuff in thermal...
However, the new vents, bug-fixes, and earthquake revision look promising.
Someone out there is bound to do a remix with all of the stuff you removed put back in...

Most people enjoyed having a smaller map with faster gameplay than a bunch of eye candy. I did like some of the things I had to remove (lava tunnel was pretty cool) but gameplay comes first.

I tried it, the missing teleport did make the map smaller from a game-play perspective, and the lift to nowhere is a little conspicuous, not to mention camping fun-fun.
If you planned on doing more releases I would suggest that you put your storage room under the observatory, and attach the other entrance somewhere else.
The planetarium, although oversized, was nice eye candy, and a dome visible from outside would have been nice flavor.
All said ann done, you are done with the map and we won't force any more changes upon you.

I like all the changes except one. I really really loved teh teleport games. Taking away the 3rd teleport ruins my fun.

i played it on D*S. its in the rotation there. a nice noob pwner map. the server goes down to like 8 people sometimes :p

Sorry, :oops: I' found a bug in the previous beta, but I forgot it, and not having played with tremulous for at least two months...
By seeing this release I remembered it... and because I did not defer it, the bug is also in the final version. :-?
It is never too late (a little nevertheless, yes) :
I recorded a demo
to put it in scene.
