Reballance for 1v1 fights?

I think humans' only chance is working in one group. But in public servers this in not the case.
A human team can easily beat any alien team if they rush out all immediately. When 6 humans rush into the alien base in the first minute, drenches can't really handle it. But when better aliens after slurping out 3 human brains getting goons then the human team is doomed. 5 chainsuits can kill 2 tyrant easily but I don't think they can handle when 5 rants trampling over them.
A human alone even with the best equipment is useless against a skilled alien. Human weapons are just unable to inflict enough damage fast enough to kill a goon or a rant before they chop their head down. Even with painsaw a goon takes 1 secs a rant 2 secs to kill but they can kill you in 300ms. Also human movement is crippled after 3 jumps you can't jumpdodge anytime you want. Dodge would be useful if you can dodge the alien charges like a matador. But you can't... Dodge 3 times and die... Also aliens are move faster than a human can sprint. Its better to die fighting than falling back, losing your credits and you weapon. While aliens can run away some can do that on the walls some just bounce away and others just catapult themselves away keeping their precious evos and moreover their lives. Stay 5 secs on a booster and continue the rush even in the case you killed. You can evolve immediately and keep the humans under pressure...
Aliens have good mobility, humans should have better technology. Every weapon shots and takes damage, I think humans should have a bigger arsenal of tactical weapons. Several ideas that came in my mind:
- An explosive weapon that don't do so much splash damage but its shockwave should be strong enough to "lucijump" even the biggest aliens away.
- Counterpart of the basilisk that can slow down the aliens helping others getting it. ("grab" range is up to your suggestions)
- "Banishment device" this "artifact" first appeared in the Hexen. Your target you activated on teleported away some random location on the map. (it would have its price)
- "Chaos device" (appeared in Heretic) use it to respawn immediately. Would be useful when your base is far away and a group of aliens are going to piss you off. (it would have its price too)
- "Disc of repulsion" (appeared first in Hexen) cheap thing that can be used to throw the foes away like first weapon does but this can be used once.
- A plasmagun that shoot very very slow but powerful projectile. This weapon is designed especially to fill the air with plasma wall. (beware you can damage yourself with those balls)
- The humans need the force, give them the LIGHTSABER!
- What about laying mines? (damage would be less compared to the grenade)
Newbies usually join the human team and usually want to play alone and usually after they got killed 100 times without killing an alien they throw in some curse and uninstall the game and tell 10 other people how this game sucks... Even if they join the alien team drenches are weak and easy targets running towards you straight on the floor (wallwalking is quite disorienting first even after 4 months I can't handle it well.)
Every player need some success regardless if he is noob or pro. (Thats why the mmorpg's are so popular today.)
ps: lots of thoughts came in to my mind after a suffering 4 hours of play that made me very frustrated... This post took 2 hours to compose...

this is easy to answer: Hell No!!!!111!!!
tremulous is a team vs team game motivate your side to attack sure dretches even in a group are weaker against a group of humans but everything else in this game is quite balanced the only thing thats an issue atm is the excessive camping that both sides like to do maybe eliminating sudden death they wont camp for the 1st 30 mins
oh btw a noob human with the best equipment will always lose to a skilled alien even if hes a dretch same with a tyrant/goon/mara noob alien will lose to a skilled human even if hes still naked with a rifle and it should be like this if noobs can consistently beat skilled players then the balance isnt correct

Already in various mods.
Tremulous is a team game, not 1v1 though. (Even though most idiots playing have no idea what the word team means)

I like the "dodge like a matador" idea. Humans could dodge at the last second when they're about to be pounced/charged, and they would go behind the alien. It would have to be really hard to pull off though or else it would be way too op. It still sounds kinda fun to try though
(for the human anyways

Dodge is pathetic. Now we will demand matadors, wallwalking for humans and cartoonish brake graphics. Oh okay, and pink grangers.
