its a beta. seems to run well atleast the older version i use. the code seems much better at parts(already started to port my QVM its going to be alot of work). one thing i find annoying though its probably just me is losing the ! in admin commands.

Source is still set to local/lan. Otherwise it seems fine. What's required to setup a 1.2 beta server? Just replace the tremded with a 1.2 beta tremded?

- Remember to set sv_pure 0.
- If your sv_hostname has control characters (we did) your server won't show up on the list.
- Admin commands are shown with /adminhelp instead of !help, and the old '!' commands use now '/' instead (e.g, /time)

Yeah, sorta forgot about them in my excitement. Well that seems easy enough to do then. Are there any major changes that I should be aware about in admin.dat or the config files?

set g_humanStage2Threshold 4000

Bigger change: ALL admin flags/levels have changed. They no longer use character-flags, but rather words describing access.

e.g.,

Does it still have those annoying popup windows telling you that you can't evolve because there is a human too close, or you don't have enough creds, etc where you have to click 'Ok' or press escape? I think those should be taken out, as they really just irritating and often ends up getting you killed when you are the last hope for your team. Perhaps another messaging system could be used, something similar to cp?

no it isn't, you have trash in your config.

Just deleted my configs and you were right. Resolution was still 640x480 though.

Um, no? Nothing about sv_pure has changed. Whether or not you want to set it is your business but there is no additional reason why it must be done for this.

Actually it'd be more useful for beta testing if pure were left 1, since at least that way bug reports aren't due to bogus reasons like crap files floating around in users' directories.

I installed temulous + the gameplay preview, fired it up, but couldn't find Dretch*Storm in the server list. I'd like to try out the beta (been a while since I played tremulous) but apparently no one else is playing it right now. Does anyone know which servers ARE running the beta? I presume the development servers are, but are there any others besides D*S (which I can't find in the list)? Servers where perhaps there are people actually playing?
